A Lifetime of Fishing. A Passion for Muskoka.
TJ LeClair on the water in Muskoka
I’m TJ LeClair, and I’ve been fishing for over 25 years. Growing up with a family cottage in Muskoka, I’ve spent time fishing these lakes since I was a young kid.
Bass fishing is my specialty, particularly finding and targeting big fish. Over the past few years, I’ve dedicated myself to studying fishing techniques, understanding fish behaviour, and developing the skills that help me adapt on the water.
In 2027, I’m turning that lifelong passion into my first professional guiding season. I welcome everyone—from kids picking up a rod for the first time to experienced anglers looking to chase giants.
Some guests want a relaxed day on the lake. Others want to work on a specific technique or pursue their next personal best. Whatever brings you aboard, my aim is to make the trip enjoyable, share what I’ve learned, and give you practical knowledge to take into your own fishing.
Requirements vary by age and residency. Licences are not included and can be obtained online or from authorized issuers.
On the water in 2027
A season shaped by the lakes.
Bass is the main focus
TJ specializes in bass fishing, especially finding big fish. Largemouth and smallmouth bass may be featured where relevant to the selected waters. All bass are catch-and-release.
Planned schedule
Early-season pike and walleye trips are planned from around Victoria Day weekend.
Bass trips are planned from the fourth Saturday in June; after bass season opens, public trips will focus on bass.
Trips are planned through the last weekend in November, subject to weather, safe operation, and applicable fishing seasons.
These are operating plans, not confirmed legal season dates. 2027 regulations and lake-specific exceptions must be verified before dates are offered. Pike and walleye trips after the switch to bass may be arranged personally at TJ’s discretion.
Ontario fishing licence requirements depend on factors such as age and residency. Licences are not included; check the official Ontario guidance before your trip.
Can I bring children?
Yes. Families and children are welcome. Properly fitted lifejackets are included.
Can I keep my catch?
All bass are catch-and-release. Pike and walleye may be retained only where current regulations, licence limits and the rules for the specific water permit it.
